A small museum with an adorable interior courtyard and café, this destination celebrates the details of daily living. View the way a family room was decorated in 60's, 70's or 80's, listen to a sound recording of Flemish accents from different parts of the country, or get lost amongst the rows and rows of knick knacks. It's peculiar, unique and thoroughly absorbing.
On Friday 10 March, the first day of the Access Day weekend, a new hear & touch tour is introduced. Unlike many museums who mostly go for a visual experience, Huis van Alijn invites its visitors to feel and touch history. A selection of objects can be discovered by touch, while a scoundscape evokes the world behind the object.
This part of the exhibition is tailor-made for visitors with a visual impairment, but can be appreciated by everybody. On request, the museum provides personal assistance on the way to the museum from the railway station or bus stop.

Openings hours: Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm; Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10am to 6pm. Closed on Wednesday.
