Hilde and her husband Piet, a wheelchair user, were really impressed with the Musical Instrument Museum. The museum is not only wheelchair-friendly, it is also suitable for visitors with a visual or mental disability, and the hearing-impaired. "Every visitor is given a wireless headset. When you are near an instrument, it begins to play in your headset", the couple explains. Visitors with a visual or mental disability, and the hearing-impaired can also take part in special tours to discover the instruments using different senses. Participants can hold the instruments and try them, feel and smell the materials they are made of, or experience vibrations in different ways. “We really recommend the MIM, particularly to music lovers”, says Piet.
