Since Flanders is less than 20% the size of the state of Victoria, it’s no surprise that it’s an easy place to travel around.  All of our cities are really close to each other and accessible by train or car. Brussels is the heart of Europe and has many flight and train connections. London, Paris, Amsterdam or Berlin are all close by. English is widely spoken and Flemish people are always ready to help out!

Brussels National Airport (BRU) is Belgium’s main international airport.  (www.brusselsairport.be/en/)
A number of airlines provide connecting services to Brussels from various capital cities in Australia.  These airlines include;

•    Etihad (www.etihad.com)
•    Qatar (www.qatarairways.com)
•    Thai Airways (www.thaiairways.com.au)

The following airlines also provide connecting services to Brussels from Auckland, New Zealand;

Brussels National Airport (BRU) is located 13 kilometres north east of the centre of Brussels.  A railway station is located directly beneath the terminal building (basement level -1) and trains provide frequent services to Brussels and major cities across Flanders.  The journey time to Brussels Central station is around 20 minutes.

Taxis are available in front of the arrivals hall and the journey into the city centre costs approximately $65.  The journey time is around 30 minutes depending on the time of the day.  Taxis are available 24 hours.

If you are flying in from London, Paris or Amsterdam, the city of Brussels is less than two hours away by train.
