Foodpairing with Nicolas Soenen in Antwerp
In The Antwerp City Brewery they enjoyed an introduction to the basics of foodpairing by beersommelier Nicolas Soenen in collaboration with The Local Culinary Heroes (De Koninck Crafts). Among these heroes you can find cheese masters Van Tricht, butcher Luc De Laet, chef Bert-Jan Michielsen and chocolatier Jitsk Heyninck. Every product is a perfect match with De Koninck beer.
Afterwards they did a foodpairing challenge where Kasper was the clear winner. He won a stay in the driving Vedett Motel.
In the afternoon, the bloggers explored the city by bike and took a stop at the Red Star Line Museum for a taste of the ‘bootjesbier’. With a mindblowing dinner at Graanmarkt 13, a restaurant run by Flanders Kitchen Rebel Seppe Nobels, the group concluded yet another beautiful day.
