Bierolade

A perfect combination of beer and chocolate is a certain guarantee of pure delight. This beer/chocolate tasting offers you a range of top-class beers which are paired in duo with the ultimate chocolate praline. You will witness a clash of the titans between beer and chocolate: one beer strives for a harmonious pairing with the praline whereas the other one goes for the dark contrasting taste. Which of the two comes out victorious: harmony or contrast ? You will taste all about it during this degustation. No doubt you will learn that beer and chocolate are a successful marriage.

Beer & Chocolate Pairing - Bruges

The participants sample six different beers with original chocolates to complement them. The chocolatier tells about the specific flavours and explains why beer and chocolate go together so well. At the end, the participants receive a box of pralines to take with them. The participants enjoy a unique taste experience, but note that they do not make any pralines themselves.

During this tasting, the participants discover the surprising and marvellous combination of two typical Belgian specialities: beer and chocolate. Five Belgian beers are combined with various types of chocolate (white chocolate, milk chocolate, black chocolate and traditional pralines). A visit to the museum is also included in the price, giving participants the opportunity to learn more about the history of cocoa and chocolate, cocoa farming and chocolate production.

Firstly, Werner Callebaut describes the typical characteristics of beer and chocolate, in a understandable way and filled with interesting anecdotes. He also explains the taste-related similarities between cocoa and beer. Then it's time for the pairing itself. You'll witness a true clash of titans between beer and chocolate (white, milk and dark). Some beers choose for peaceful harmony with the praline, while others prefer the contrast. Which one will prevail? Harmony or contrast? You will find out all about it during this degustation and come to the conclusion that beer and chocolate are a perfect match.
