Antwerp is famous for its 'Antwerpse handjes', which are either biscuits or little chocolates in the form of a hand. Looking for more sweet things? Try out the unique regional cake called 'mattentaart', the traditionally baked 'speculoos' or Brussels' Pain à la Grecque. Other Flemish specialities includes 'stoofvlees' - also known as carbonade flamande - a delicious, warming beef stew made with Belgian beer, and waterzooi, a stew originating from Ghent, and made with either fish or chicken.
