If you’re up early, slip off to the secluded beguinage for some serenity. Arriving before the crowds at 10am will afford you the additional treat of being able to soak up the atmosphere as it was intended. This walled complex for nuns is a quiet, respectful oasis with tree-lined canals, white, gabled houses and a simple church. The green square in the centre is overrun with tulips in the springtime, adding to the ambiance of reflection and calm.

Make sure to chosse the entrance closest to the Minnewater park to avoid the steep bridge. You will have to cross over rounded cobblestones, but the entire inner circle of the Beguinage consists of flat cobblestones, which you can easily drive on.
