One of the defining features for Ghent’s famous Medieval skyline – the Three Towers of Ghent – Saint Nicholas Church is a must see.  Completed in the 1200’s and currently under reconstruction, this monolithic Shelde Gothic-style building with its blue gray Tournai stone is central to the town and to any itinerary. As an added bonus, it’s free.

Accessibility information

The only difficulty is a single stair at the entrance point that has been fitted with a short ramp. Once inside the church, the nave can be visited via a ramp (on the Korenmarkt side) when it is open for certain activities.
