Visitors’ centre in the historic city hall and the opening to the public of the Belfry. In 1914 the Great War destroyed the Medieval city centre of Termonde. Like many other buildings the 14th century city hall and belfry were consumed by flames.

In 2014 a new visitors’ centre in the reconstructed city hall and belfry, today classified as UNESCO world heritage, will allow visitors to explore these remarkable historical events of the cities past and to experience the impact the war had on its cultural heritage and people. The renovated tourist office in the historic city hall will offer visitors a first class view of what the region has to offer.
