This big beautiful building often featuring 87 flags of EU nations is a required visit, grandly taking up a large portion of the Grote Market square. Built in the 1560’s in Italian and Renaissance styles, this town hall has been the inspiration for many government buildings around Central and Northern Europe. As one of the most important Renaissance buildings in the country, it earned a spot on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
