Bruges' City Hall dates back to 1376 and is one of the Oldest in the Low Countries. This is the place where the city has been governed for more than 600 years. An absolute must is the Gothic Hall, which is a magnificent work of art with its murals from aound 1900 and its vault. The adjacent historic hall with original documents and works of art tells the history of the city council. On the gound floor, a free multimedia exhibition illustrates the evolution of the Burg.

Accessibility information

There are two special parkings places on the Burg. The access path consists of flat cobblestones. The entrance, counter and halls of City Hall are easily accessible. A wheelchair user will probably need help at the lift to keep the doors open and operate the buttons (please ask for help at the reception). There is no adapted toilet. Audio guides are available.
