Located just 60 minutes east of Brussels by car, Bokrijk is a unique open-air museum with its own park and walking area. While it is well worth a visit at any time to see its 120 historic buildings and objects set in a truly idyllic landscape, there will be a further reason to make the detour during the exhibition in 2019.

‘The World of Bruegel’ will bring the artist’s painting to life. Visitors will see, hear, feel, taste and smell life and landscapes from the time of Bruegel. At various strategic points along the Bruegel route, visitors will be invited to enter fourdifferent worlds which are housed in impressive barns, themselves fine examples of historic craftsmanship. Each will bring different aspects of Bruegel’s work to life in a stimulating and modern way, for even though the works of Bruegel are hundreds of years old, they are still full to the brim with references,
humour, symbolism and hidden tales.
