Silent City Meets Living City
Tyne Cot Cemetery in Zonnebeke is a silent but important witness to the Battle of Passchendaele. With nearly 12.000 graves and 35.000 names of soldiers with no known grave. Tyne Cot Cemetery is the largest Commonwealth cemetery in the world.
On 14 October, the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 and the community of Zonnebeke will hold a moment of silence and reflection at Tyne Cot Cemetery to commemorate the many victims. Participants can register via www.passchendaele2017.org to be part of the unique and powerful event at this smbolic location.
