The Jane in Antwerp is one of the youngest, as well as one of the most renowned restaurants in our country. The lovechild of two top notch chefs can flaunt two Michelin stars ànd it’s on the list of 100 best restaurants in the world.
Quite the honorary list, although The Jane is quite the newcomer. The already famous Sergio Herman opened this place with his ‘partner in crime’ Nick Bril in the spring of 2014. And they found just the place to do so: the chapel of the former military hospital in Berchem.
Your tastebuds will be delighted, and on top of that, it’s even pleasing to the eye: the chapel got a make-over. The structure of the chapel remains the same, but with a contemporary touch. Thé highlight is a dashing chandelier with no less than 150 bulbs. Knowing that, it didn’t come as a surprise that The Jane was elected the most beautiful restaurant in the world at the 2015 Restaurant and Bar Design Awards in London
This Antwerpian gem hit bull’s eye in as many ways. Not even two years after opening, The Jane was rewarded with its first Michelin star. The second one arrived the year after that. And The Jane has only just begun…

The steps at the main entrance can be avoided by using an alternative entrance. A good lift escorts you to the restaurant. The doors are sufficiently wide and there is sufficient circulation space. Manoeuvring a wheelchair under the majority of the tables is limited due to a centre table leg, but there are also larger tables where manoeuvring is more manageable. The door to the adapted toilet is 82 cm wide. The toilet has sufficient space and is fitted with grab rails. Manoeuvring a wheelchair under the sink is limited.
