Bastins has existed for over 100 years. In 1908 Theofiel Adriaenssens opened a sweetshop on the Paardenmarkt 108, but it was only after WWII that his descendant Gilbert Bastin specialised in chocolate creations. His sons, Raymond and Ronny, continued the business and in 1999 they opened a second shop at the foot of the Cathedral of Our Lady. You’ll find deserts, nine different types of chocolatemilk and warm drinks. They offer a vast array of chocolates with spices like cinnamon and saffron.
