Dear Friend of Flanders,

In view of the COVID-19-situation, specific safety measures and additional restrictions are currently in place across Belgium. You will find more detailed information on following website. For the latest travel advice to our country, please consult your local authorities.

If you are travelling to Flanders, Brussels or elsewhere in Belgium for a duration of 48 hours or more, you will need to complete a Passenger Locator Form, within the 48 hours before your arrival in Belgium.

Take good care of yourself and each other and keep it safe and healthy.

We hope to welcome you again soon, with twice the heart, love and hospitality.

Warm regards,

Do you require regular physical therapy or do you need care during your stay? Are you looking for someone to assist you during your trip? Would you like to rent a wheelchair during your holiday? …
This section has all the information you need about care, assistance or resources at your holiday.

You need care while on holiday?

In Flanders, 28 holiday accommodations with an accessibility label are currently offering a care framework. This can mean that you will find facilities such as hoists or hospital beds, and that you can call on care staff (nursing, assistance). Some houses have their own staff available for this, for others the necessary assistance is hired externally. You can find more information about the accommodations and their care framework in our two All in brochures.

The offerings increase if you arrange your own care. Holiday-makers in Flanders can call upon a regional service or independent nurses who operate near your holiday address. Contact a nursing service as quickly as possible so that you can discuss the possibilities and conditions on time. A few big organisations that can help you include:

  • The Wit-Gele Kruis (White-Yellow Cross) is a home nursing organisation with branches all over Flanders. Here you can find the contact addresses per province.
  • The Flemish Association for Independent Nurses (VBZV) lists where you can go for home nursing. You can contact a nurse directly to discuss your concrete requests.
  • Home nursing and other forms of care can also be arranged via a local or regional social service or joint venture. Het Vlaams Agentschap Zorg en Gezondheid (Flemish Agency Care and Health) familiarises you with the offerings via the website.

You need assistance while on holiday?

Sometimes assistance is offered at the holiday destination itself. Some holiday homes offer limited care and the personnel or volunteers can offer assistance from time to time.

At eight locations along the coast you can enjoy the following facilities during the summer holidays: parking spaces close by, accessible toilets and care rooms with hoist, hospital bed and shower, beach mats and beach wheelchairs. Volunteers and and staff members can also lend a hand for some tasks.

Are you looking for an assistant at your holiday destination? Just contact us; we will help you find a solution. You can also bring your own assistance on your holiday or outing.

You need medical devices while on holiday?

You need a hospital bed, hoist, scoot mobile, etc. at your holiday address? The website below will help you figure out which distribution point is closest to your holiday address and which devices they offer. Some devices, usually lighter items, must be collected; other items are delivered to and/or installed at your holiday address.
