Diksmuide is a city that never bores. It is located near the Yser river, in the centre of the Westhoek region. On the Central Square you can admire the City Hall, the St. Nicholas Church and many beautiful façades. Walk a little bit further and visit the city park, the picturesque Beguinage and - of course - the 'Ijzertoren'. Its interesting tours and impressive sites will tell you everything that there is to know about the First World War. Do not forget to taste the local specialities: the Diksmuide butter biscuits and the delicious 'Ijzerbollen' (a type of pastry with whipped cream or pudding and icing sugar).
