Bruges is brimming with heritage, yet some of its pearls are not so easy to discover. Sacred Books - Secret Libraries is shining a spotlight on a few of these hidden treasures and is allowing you to take a peek behind the doors of two centuries-old convents and their libraries.

Sacred Books - Secret Libraries

With medieval alleys and canals, the belfry and cathedral, and masterpieces by the Flemish Primitives in the churches, Bruges is packed with centuries-old heritage. The fact that the entire historic centre of the city was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO is proof enough. However, the city is also home to some less obvious treasures.

Sacred Books - Secret Libraries

Sacred Books | Secret Libraries allows you to discover two of them. Two convents, almost 400 years old, want to share their secrets with you. The English Convent is allowing you access to its unique domed church and the relics of philosopher Thomas More.

The Carmelites Convent has a beautiful, intact convent library and an impressive refectory.
