Command Bunker - Heuvelland (Kemmel)
It’s not all First World War history in Flanders Fields. Located on top of the Kemmelberg, make your way down into the ultra-secret Command Bunker of the Belgian armed forces, the nerve centre of the supreme command during the Cold War. Built in the early fifties, it was originally designed to be the command post of an international air defence system but ultimately was never used in action. After the Cold War, the bunker stood empty and is now preserved for public access.
