This most diverse of all the Bruges Museums, with a collection of applied art or decorating art, is situated in the 15th-century palace of the lords of 'Gruuthuse'. Besides a collection of sculptures and magnificent Bruges tapestry and furniture, silver ware, copper, tin, coins and medallions, ceramics and musical instruments are also on display. In the armoury the notorious 18th century guillotine is on display. The interesting interior breathes a special atmosphere. Especially in the large kitchen and in the authentic medieval chapel, built in 1472, visitors imagine themselves in the late Middle Ages.
