The new fashion museum or MoMu is located in the heart of Antwerp's fashion scene, in a beautiful renovated building: Besides the moMu it also houses the Flanders Fashion Institute (FFI), the famous fashion department of the Hogeschool Antwerpen, the Art and Architecture Bookshop Copyright and the Brasserie National. The MoMu collection consists largely of an inheritance from the former Textile and Costume Museum Vrieselhof and is a very diverse collection of clothing, fashion, lace, embroidery, fabrics and tools for artisanal textile processing. The oldest pieces date back to the 16th century, and MoMu complements the collection with contemporary works by Belgian designers. The MoMu also has a dynamic exhibition policy with two large thematic exhibitions per year, linked to lots of extra activities, workshops, tours, lectures and debates. With the many activities on the calendar they want to appeal to young and old for a visit to this collective wardrobe of our society.
