Dear Friend of Flanders,

In view of the COVID-19-situation, specific safety measures and additional restrictions are currently in place across Belgium. You will find more detailed information on following website. For the latest travel advice to our country, please consult your local authorities.

If you are travelling to Flanders, Brussels or elsewhere in Belgium for a duration of 48 hours or more, you will need to complete a Passenger Locator Form, within the 48 hours before your arrival in Belgium.

Take good care of yourself and each other and keep it safe and healthy.

We hope to welcome you again soon, with twice the heart, love and hospitality.

Warm regards,

No, it’s not the strong Belgian beer you’ve been drinking – this medieval bell tower built in the 13th and 15th century IS leaning, tilting to the East a full metre. At the 83 metres high, the belfry offers jaw-dropping views the expanse of the quaint town below.  If you’re so inclined, you can head up the steep and narrow 366 steps to the top, which is quite the experience and not for the faint of heart, as the stairs get smaller the higher you get. Information about the belfry and working carillon bells, which ring every quarter hour as they’ve done for nearly seven and a half centuries, are available on a number of floors, which offer a respite from the arduous climb.
