In the rolling Flemish countryside north of Roeselare, you will find one of the four remaining German cemeteries honouring the dead from WW1. The original 128 cemeteries spread over the region were eventually consolidated and this small cemetery now contains the remains of 8,241 WW1 German soldiers. With it’s more remote location, it’s less frequently visited but no less special with an Hall of Honour built with the stones from the 1928 German Pavilion at the World’s Fair.
