Building works were carried out on Saint Bavo's Cathedral in Ghent over a period of 500 years until this architectural gem was finally completed in 1569. The result is an edifice that features a large number of building styles, with Gothic dominating. Inside is the world-famous artwork "Adoration of the Mystic Lamb", the masterpiece by Jan van Eyck that is one of the greatest works of art in Belgium. Following a thorough restoration, it was given a new home in the chapel built in the crypt. There, you travel back into the past using Augmented Reality glasses. You will discover the eventful history of the Ghent Altarpiece and the Saint Bavo Cathedral as if you were there yourself.
