The Bayard Horse Parade promises once again to be an impressive historical event with theatrical and musical re-enactments and contemporary performances brought by some 2000 costumed actors. Some 20 floats, drawn by exceptionally beautiful horses, create an imaginative setting and an impressive sensation. Acrobats, stilt-walkers, standard-bearers and special effects marching along the streets boost the festive feeling. The highlight of each parade is the prancing and dancing of the Bayard Horse, carried around by the sturdy dockers guild and ridden by the four children of Aymon in knight armor. Incessantly the Bayard Horse Music Band plays the traditional Bayard song. The fiddler, the jester Kalleke Step, the arquebusiers and halberdiers do not recede from the Bayard Horse’s side. Together they treat the 100.000 spectators along the course of the parade to a once in a decade experience. The event ends with a spectacular musical firework and afterparty.
