The MIMA presents "Art is Comic", a 2.0 human comedy, because the times demand it The MIMA's third exhibition brings together 7 European including 4 Belgian artists, who poke fun at society through their figurative works. Among them, the big names on the social networks. The collective exhibition brings together 7 European artists who poke fun at "The Human Comedy", some gently, others more fiercely. Behind the banter that criticizes the absurdities of our behavior lies also a passionate plea for a cosmopolitan society. The choice of artists reflects the cross-cutting approach towards culture favoured by the MIMA. Gathered within the same venue, the aesthetics and the statements shared by the artists overstep the boundaries of the various fields of art from which they come, incuding the comic strip, plastic arts and illustration. At a time when the social networks are standardizing cultural content for their dissemination, the idea that one creative fields prevails over another no longer holds true.
