Classic war play JOURNEY'S END returns to Flanders this Autumn, following its acclaimed run last year at Het Kruitmagazijn (Gunpowder Store) in Ypres / Ieper. Staged in an authentic trench theatre, it tells the warm, funny but heart-rending story of a company of soldiers facing a massive frontline attack (Operation Michael, March 1918). Author R C Sherriff based story and characters on his own real-life experiences at Passchendaele where he was wounded a century ago. In a 5 star review, the Telegraph said MESH Theatre Co's "painstaking attention to detail would make for a compelling account of the World War One classic anywhere, but the surroundings take it to another level."
