RetroRonde of Flanders
"The RetroRonde van Vlaanderen", is a colourful and gastronomic cycling event with riders from all over Europe on nice retro bicycles and clothed to match. The RetroRonde is not a competition, it's an enjoyable Sunday ride of 40, 70 or 100km (approx. 25, 43 and 62 miles) through the rolling landscape of the Flemish Ardennes containing some of the typical well known cobblestoned slopes. The bicycles should date from before 1987 and clothing should be from the same period. Food stops are nicely located and offer local specialities to eat and drink.The day before, on Saturday the registrations are open, there's a bicycle swap meet, the election of the most authentic riders, a criterium race in the city centre of Oudenaarde as well as a swinging' Retro Dansant. So you'll have plenty of opportunities to warm up those legs for the next day! Grab your old bicycle, come on over to Oudenaarde and have a ride with us!
