The reputation of Belgian chocolate speaks for itself, but not many people know about the skills involved in chocolate making or its industrial development. In the past, the ‘black gold’ was reserved for high society - now everyone can enjoy it. The evolution in the taste of chocolate and its consumption is closely linked to developments in production techniques. This walking tour takes you via the prestigious Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert to the Grand Place. Along the way, you’ll look back over the history of the Belgians’ passion for chocolate. We’ll stop off at Godiva, Leonidas and the Museum of Cacao and Chocolate, where we’ll go on a journey through the history of chocolate and its production, from bean to bar. The tour ends with a delicious tasting session.
