Dear Friend of Flanders,

In view of the COVID-19-situation, specific safety measures and additional restrictions are currently in place across Belgium. You will find more detailed information on following website. For the latest travel advice to our country, please consult your local authorities.

If you are travelling to Flanders, Brussels or elsewhere in Belgium for a duration of 48 hours or more, you will need to complete a Passenger Locator Form, within the 48 hours before your arrival in Belgium.

Take good care of yourself and each other and keep it safe and healthy.

We hope to welcome you again soon, with twice the heart, love and hospitality.

Warm regards,

On this tasty walking tour, participants will be immersed in the history of chocolate and how it found its way to our lands. They’ll learn all about this precious currency in the time of the Mayas and the Aztecs, potent medicine in 16th century Europe, extravagant food at the courts of powerful kings and emperors and ideal gift to win the heart of a lover. The history of “praline”, the ever-popular chocolate invented by a Belgian in 1912 and still made using traditional methods, will also be covered. Participants will see inside some specialist chocolate factories and of course get the opportunity to try some delicious Belgian pralines.  They’ll visit several chocolate shops and learn why chocolate is good for them. For chocoholics, Carolien Krijnen also offers a separate Deluxe chocolate walking tour.
