Extra Tips

Texture - Kortrijk
In Flanders, there is plenty of accommodation designed with a view to the needs of guests who face obstacles when going on holiday. Via our search engine and brochures, you will find all wheelchair-accessible addresses that have obtained an A or A+ accessibility label. Special provisions for guests with a visual, hearing or mental disability are indicated and explained. And holidaymakers with an allergy (to include food allergies) or special care needs can choose from a wide range of suitable accommodation sites. Discover the offer below.

Allergy-friendly accommodations

For people with a food allergy or intolerance

Eating well is and remains one of the ingredients for a successful holiday. Fortunately, there are also plenty of accommodations where guests with food allergies can enjoy a delicious meal too. Several different accommodations offer adapted meals.

  • “Logeren in Vlaanderen Vakantieland” offers an overview of accommodation providers that offer a customised menu for people with a food allergy or intolerance. Search for an appropriate accommodation address.
  • In our two brochures with accessible holiday accommodations, you can identify accommodations that pay attention to the needs of guests with a food allergy thanks to an appropriate icon. The kitchen is happy to take your food allergy or intolerance into account.

For guests with a different allergy or asthma

  • In our two brochures with accessible holiday accommodations, you can look up accommodations that pay attention to the needs of guests with an allergy or asthma by using the handy icons. Their rooms are furnished with anti-allergy materials, special mattresses or duvet covers, anti-allergy carpets (or no carpet), etc. You will find more detailed information in this regard for each address under the “Extra” subheading.

A care-free stay for people with care needs

Holiday makers with special care needs can enjoy a care-free holiday in Flanders at many holiday accommodations with specialised care facilities. These holiday accommodations are fully accessible, have a great many resources available (e.g. hoists, height adjustable beds and baths, shower stretchers, etc.) and you can also call on nursing staff if you wish.

Naturally, holidaymakers with (perhaps lighter) care needs can also stay at our regular accessible holiday accommodations. In consultation with the accommodation operator, certain devices can then be hired from a local rental service and/or care, nursing or physiotherapy can be provided via local care workers or nursing services.
