Haider Ackermann

Haider Ackermann was born in Colombia and at the age of nine months adopted by a French couple.
Inspired by the work of Yves Saint Laurent, he came to Belgium. He took courses at the Fashion Academy Antwerp in 1994.
He worked as an assistant for Wim Neels, Bernhard Willhelm and Patrick Van Ommeslaeghe, then he started designing for Mayerline.
Ackermann was approached to succeed Galliano at Dior, later on he moved to Chanel. Some commentators called him even the new “Yves Saint-Laurent”.
His influence of cultural differences is present in his designs. He contrasts and blends dress codes. His creations have been worn by Penélope Cruz, Victoria Beckham and Janet Jackson.
