2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the inscription of Belgian brewing culture on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. A true cradle of beer, Belgium combines centuries-old tradition with modern creativity. Flanders, particularly the Westhoek region, remains a major hop-growing area.

To celebrate this, together with our friends at LeShuttle, we’re offering two people the chance to come and experience Flanders for themselves. Drive from Folkestone to Calais in just 35 minutes, with unlimited luggage and explore the best of Flanders with your car. From Calais, it is just a short drive over the French border until you arrive in Flanders. 

We will be hosting you in the city of Leuven, often known as the capital of beer. It is home to no less than 30 breweries, many of which you can find in the city centre or just outside. It is the birthplace of the famous Stella Artois but also many other small micro breweries, each showcasing their own unique beer craftsmanship.

Just off the main square, you’ll find the Oude Markt. It is likened to pulling up a chair to the longest bar in Europe. Nowehere else will you find so many catering establishments in one place. A perfect setting to sample local beers and the finest Flemish cuisine on offer. 

Leuven is also the location of one of Europe’s oldest universities and a host of historical and cultural gems. A trip simply not to be missed.

• The winner will be drawn at random and will be contacted the week commencing 6th July 2026.
• Only one entry per person will be included in the draw.
• This prize open to UK entrants only.
• Travel must be booked and confirmed before 31^st December 2026.
• Travel dates are subject to availability with some date restrictions, and once confirmed the booking cannot be amended in any way.
• It is the responsibility of the winner to ensure they and their guest each have a valid passport, necessary documents and travel insurance for the visit.
• The prize does not include travel to/from UK departure point, other travel costs within Belgium, food and drink and personal expenditure other than overnight accommodation with breakfast for 2 nights in Flanders plus one evening meal.
• All elements of the prize are subject to availability, non-transferrable and there are no cash alternatives.
• The prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or promotions. 4
• The winner may be required to participate in reasonable publicity on behalf of VISITFLANDERS.
• Events may occur that render the prize draw itself or the awarding of the prize impossible due to reasons beyond the control of VISITFLANDERS. • The LeShuttle Short Stay Flexiplus ticket does not include travel insurance, fuel, toll charges, food and drink, spending money, tax, pet travel costs or personal expenses. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above, and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize, are the responsibility of the winner.
• The winner will be responsible for ensuring that they (and any people travelling with them) are available to travel and hold valid passports, any necessary visas and travel documents. Provide Advance Passenger Information (API) and has appropriate travel insurance and car insurance (including motor breakdown cover) for the trip in question on the travel dates specified.
• The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered. Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right (a) to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value and (b) in exceptional circumstances to amend or foreclose the promotion without notice.
