The 18th-century De Notelaer Pavilion is a picturesque gem beside the stately River Scheldt. This elegant heritage accommodation is set in the green outskirts of Antwerp, within the D’Ursel castle estate. Here, you can immerse yourself in history, art and culture. Its showpiece, the circular salon, is sure to enchant you during your stay. From April to October, you’re also welcome on the sunny garden terrace, where you can enjoy summer concerts or exhibitions during an independent or guided walk.

The hunting lodge of D’Ursel Castle

Long ago, a vast walnut tree stood proudly on the banks of the Scheldt. This mighty tree served as a landmark for passing skippers. In the 18th century, a splendid building was constructed here as part of the d’Ursel estate. The noble family of the same name used it as a hunting lodge and an elegant reception venue. In summer, the duke and his consort often dined here in the company of distinguished guests.

Experience the grandeur of the circular salon

This eye-catching pavilion on the Scheldt embankment is waiting to be explored. The circular salon is the jewel in De Notelaer’s crown. Admire the beautiful wall and dome paintings depicting gods, muses, and mythical creatures, while the unique parquet floor immediately draws the eye. Its geometric pattern incorporates no fewer than eight different types of wood. One floor higher, the dome gallery offers amazing views over the Scheldt, the polders, and the surrounding villages.
